In this role you will be part of a small team providing a valuable range of services directly to the public. Main responsibilities of the role include: Timely assessment, recording and grading of report incidents (101 calls and face-to-face) in line with THRIVE, the Deployment Policy and HMICFRS standards Accurate and timely provision of advice and guidance to the public (101 calls and face-to-face) on police matters as well as signposting on non-police enquiries Transactional services e.g. vehicle seizures, registration of sex offenders, bail and immigration signings, processing of fail to stop road traffic collisions Paid services e.g. verification of documents for fingerprints, document authenticity and pedlars certificates Daily management of non-crime linking Niche tasks Ensuring that the public space in the Helpdesk is monitored and managed and that conflict situations are diffused quickly and effectively We are looking for officers can bring their valuable skills and experience to our helpdesks and seek applications from anyone who: Has a passion for first point of contact public service Excellent communication and listening skills – both face-to-face and on the ‘phone The ability to simultaneously operate multiple computer systems, talk and type Resilience and the ability to work effectively under pressure The ability to work effectively as part of the team For more details please have a look at the attached role profile. This role will consist of a mix of on the job training and classroom learning with our training partners Now Skills and you’ll come out of it with a British Computing Association accredited qualification, as well as hands on experience and a salary to boot. The Role Working with the IT team and reporting to the Head of IT, you will be responsible for providing for the agency 1st line support, working up to 2nd line support. This apprenticeship will give exposure to IT Service Management and hands on support of agency IT environments. Main Duties Understanding the Agency Understand McCann Manchester culture and practices. Understand the roles and responsibilities of other Agency departments and build effective relationships with the wider Agency. Core Responsibilities Handling incoming IT Support calls, email, and messages from agency staff to raise requests and log incidents. Accurate call logging, providing details of issues to team members for troubleshooting and resolution. Where appropriate, resolving issues promptly and efficiently with the use of sound technical trouble shooting. Escalation of tickets to the appropriate team member to ensure they are dealt with efficiently. We are looking for Confidence to communicate with the team and the wider agency. Competency with the Office 365 Suite. Awareness of Mac and PC computers, software, and operating systems Awareness of Windows Server. Awareness of Adobe Creative Cloud. Awareness of IT Security and Data Protection. Knowledge of common smartphones and tablet operating systems. Willingness to shadow or be shadowed by other team members. Able to work as part of a team.
