You'll be carrying out PAT Testing at prestigious client sites around the UK, to make sure each item is safe to use. You'll be responsible for the visual inspections of appliances and you'll perform fuse changes, plug replacements and re-terminations when needed. You'll deliver quality customer service, working with our clients to build great working relationships. You'll work closely with our Head Office team to make sure we keep our contracts on track. Working away will form part of your working life, with all accommodation booked and expenses provided.WHAT YOU'LL NEED- Great customer service skills and a professional approach.- A focus on high quality testing.- Good verbal and written skills.- A hunger to learn. They offer a fantastic enhanced benefits package which includes:Hybrid working optionsFlexible working hoursCompany BonusDiscounted gym membershipsOptions to purchase additional holidays (up to 5 days)Plus many more!About the Mechanical Design Engineer RoleReporting to the Head of Engineering, the Mechanical Design Engineer will be responsible for working with customers to plan and deliver design, engineering and innovation for all products.Other responsibilities will include:Work with the interpretation of customer requirements relating to mechanical/electro-mechanical systems within a productCommunicate and present design ideas and solutions to customers and colleaguesProactively resolve problems within project time & budgets to robustly meet ESO (Engineering Services Outsourcing).Design and development of mechanical/electro-mechanical systems using the relevant computer aided engineering (CAE) tools, Design release methodologies, DFMEA principles and DFM etc.Support the Solutions Architecture team in carrying out feasibility studies for technical innovationsSupport the Pilot Manufacturing team in introducing a product into serial productionPrepare technical documentation; specifications, schematics, drawings, BoM’s, design reports, risk assessments, etc.Identify and communicate potential gaps/opportunities in product, process, technology, etc.About YouAs Mechanical Design Engineer, you will be a capable Engineer with demonstrable experience managing projects from concept to delivery. You will have proven experience of conceptual design and release for designing and developing complete products and components at pace.You will be adaptable and agile in your approach with a positive can-do attitude.
