The new shared breakfast programme brings together the South West across Radio Devon and Cornwall combining high impact content and breaking news with the culture and lifestyle of our audience in both counties. We're committed to telling amazing stories from our communities and bringing in new audiences. This is a full time role with a focus on producing either our breakfast or daytime programmes on Saturday and Sunday and working with the wider audio team across a range of shifts mid week.You'll need to be a confident communicator who can direct and shape our programmes live on air, your creativity will add to the sound of the shows and enable the presenters to relax and make great radio. You'll be able to source and craft amazing audio for digital & linear and you may also be required to work on the multiplatform news rota reading bulletins, writing stories and reporting.Main Responsibilities We're looking for a talented & creative journalist. You'll work 35 hours across our local audio output across seven days a week on a mixture of shifts that will include early and later starts and weekend working. This role is for producers but may also include reporting & working across social, online and TV.Are you the right candidate?You'll have experience of creating radio content and know what makes a good programme. You'll be a great team player, know how to tell stories in a creative and engaging way. You'll with an understanding of the stories that matter to our existing audiences and ideas about how we can grow audiences on BBC Sounds, Social and BBC News online. We're looking for someone who is organised, self-motivated and bursting with original ideas.
