This role will primarily be responsible for planning, in a timely manner transport requirements on a day 1 / day 2 basis, so that the team meet the required plan, logistics service and cost performance targets.Management of the transport planning of 50+ HGV & LGV Vehicles - a mixture of Artic, Tipper, Curtain-sider and Walking Floor Vehicles.Populate and maintain scheduling and booking and tracker systems.Using a mix of automated and manual tools undertake transport planning and daily execution / performance tracking of Live Load Collections.Share accurate information with own drivers and service providers to enable effective operations.Identify lane / loads requirements, risk and risk mitigations for own and third party providers.Work with internal stakeholders to utilise own fleet and third party to obtain the optimal costThe successful Transport Planner will be commutable to the Ilkeston area of Derbyshire. and have the following background:Either a Transport Professional with transport planning experience.Ideally 2+ years transport experienceExperience in general haulage would be advantageous.Experience in managing drivers & planning routesStrong internal and external customer service skill
